The Simple Routine.
After being re-introduced to my dad over our shared time at home because of the pandemic, I wanted to create a short about my new found understanding of my dad and his simple everyday routine.
Backstory.
When picturing my junior year of college, living in my parents basement never happened to cross my mind. Due to the pandemic, the basement became my new concrete studio. But I wasn’t alone! My dad, Duke, was also working from home and was conveniently right down the hall for early coffee runs, mid-day walks, and everything in-between.
My time at home allowed my dad and I to re-introduce ourselves to each other and actually get to know one another. I began to examine my dad and his appreciation for the simple life. He values routine and appreciates the small things in life. daily duke is about my dad and his simple everyday morning routine.

Animatic.
The blueprint for stop motion reference. I tried to create imagery that could be animated to show my dads everyday routine while still accomplishing a finished piece in three weeks.
